FADE

Old marks, on skin that argues back.

01

The brief

A daily serum for the appearance of dark marks — old spots, shaving marks, patches that outstayed the thing that caused them — on skin that cannot tolerate the standard approach. Shiitake, turkey tail, jackfruit, sea fennel, calendula and green tea, with gluconolactone as a gentle PHA. Built for skin that flinches at the usual actives.

02

Why

Your skin keeps the receipts. The breakout left months ago and the mark it wrote down is still there, along with the shaving marks and whatever the sun remembers about last August. FADE works the appearance of all of it — acid-free, because the usual brightening actives sting reactive skin. That trade buys tolerance and costs potency: if your skin handles acids without complaint, a niacinamide serum will do more. The manufacturer does not publish percentages for any of it, which we would rather they did. Months, not weeks, and only alongside daily sunscreen.

03

What it actually does

How to use it

Daily

A few drops on clean skin, once daily, before moisturiser. Sunscreen every morning is not optional with this one — without it you are working against yourself. Judge it at three months, not three weeks.

A man in a grey tank top sitting on the edge of a bed, city skyline through the window behind him.
A man in a navy tank top walking a city street in daylight, streetcar passing behind him.
A man in a grey tank top standing in a doorway, talking to someone out of frame.
A man in a white tank top on a wet street at night, bar lights behind him.
06

The long version

Skin is an archivist. The breakout from March, the razor's bad week, whatever the sun notarised in Mykonos — all of it filed, stamped and displayed, long after the events themselves stopped being interesting.

FADE negotiates with the archive — slowly, which is the only speed the archive respects. A daily few drops before moisturiser, working the appearance of dark marks and uneven tone.

It's built specifically for skin that argues back: no kojic acid, no niacinamide, no hexylresorcinol — the usual brighteners, removed because they're exactly what stings reactive skin. In their place, shiitake, turkey tail, jackfruit, sea fennel, calendula and green tea, with gluconolactone as a gentle PHA.

The trade in plain sight: tolerance bought, potency paid. Skin that handles acids fine will get more from a niacinamide serum — wrong bottle, no hard feelings. Skin that's been burned by every attempt? This one was built for you.

Sunscreen every morning without exception — the sun writes faster than this erases. Judge at three months. Patch-test first; introduce separately from NIGHT.

The archive keeps the receipts. This reads them slowly.

07

Q&A

Why is sunscreen 'not optional' with this one?

Because without it you are working against yourself — sun exposure is what deepens the marks you're trying to soften. A few drops once daily, sunscreen every morning, judged at three months.

Why no kojic acid or niacinamide?

Removed for tolerance — that's the design. The work is done by jackfruit, mushroom and sea-fennel extracts with a gentle PHA, built for skin that argues with acids.

Will it help the dark marks razor bumps leave on my neck?

The appearance of post-shave and post-blemish marks is exactly its lane — gradually, over weeks, with sunscreen doing half the work. Fix the shave that causes the bumps too, or you're mopping with the tap on.

Is it safe for darker skin?

It's built acid-free with no bleaching agents precisely to be tolerance-first — the goal is evening the look of spots, never lightening the skin around them. On deeper tones that distinction is the whole product.

Where is it made?

In the USA — the manufacturer's country of record for this product.

08

Safety and warnings

External use only. Avoid the eye area. Contains gluconolactone, a PHA, which can increase sun sensitivity — use sunscreen daily. Patch-test on the inner forearm before first use. Stop if the skin stings, reddens or peels. Introduce it separately from NIGHT rather than starting both at once. Not for use on broken or irritated skin. Keep out of reach of children.
